Richard Jerome defied hairy legs and hills to finish 9th in Sunday’s race in Bedfordshire.
70 riders started the race in hot conditions and it looked to be a a bunch sprint from the start as the racing was steady but not really fast.
The finish was an uphill sprint, Richard isn’t very good at hills but somehow hung on to 9th place. He was 4th place by the top of the first part of the climb but by now he’d blown up big time and it was just a case of hanging on as long as he good till the line.
