Severn Across – Club 400k Audax 9 May

Willesden Cycling Club Audax UK Super Ransonneur Series

The club’s 400k Audax from Chalfont St Peter to Chepstow and back, runs on 9 May and is filling up fast. If you have not entered you’ll need to get a move on. And if you are free early on the morning of 9 May, your tea-making skills would be appreciated.

The event has run for 14 years and is part of the club’s Super Randonneur Series that includes the epic 600k Beast from the East. Part of the qualifying series for this years Paris-Brest-Paris, the Seven Across runs to Woodstock, Tewkesbury, Newent, Chepstow, Malmsbury, Wootton Basset, Membury and Henley. It is mostly flatish but with a couple of interesting lumps on the approach and exit from Chepstow; the ride’s challenge is really a test of mental stamina.

With a cap on around 100 entries there are still places for Willesden members who want to have a go.

The ride starts at 0600 from Chalfont St Peter Community Centre and organiser Liam FitzPatrick would be delighted to have any help he can get from 0500 with tea making for the riders. If you can help contact Liam on 07881 841 355 or lfitzpatrick01@gmail.com
